Visiting King Laurin
3-day tour crossing Catinaccio Mountain with overnight stay
Day 1:
Together with your bike, meet us at the valley station of the Alpe di Siusi cable car, and a bus will bring us to the Carezza Pass. On the route to Roda di Vael Hut, we will immerse ourselves in the beauty of the Dolomites and enjoy fantastic panoramic views during the hike. The hut is located on the mountain saddle of Ciampaz at an altitude of 2283 meters, amidst the Catinaccio Mountain Group. High above the hut stands Roda di Vael Mountain with its impressive east wall, and the Torre Finestra (Window Tower) with its steep rock walls that border the rubble fields below.

Day 2:
We leave the hut in the direction of Mugoni Peak. At the fork, we keep to the right and start the ascent below the impressive rock peak. Walking through a short and imposing rock tunnel, we will reach Cigolade Pass (2,550 meters) after about one hour. From here, you can already spot Vajolet Hut (2,243 meters) in the distance. We will reach the hut after another hour. After a break in the hut, we follow the Vajolet Valley to Grasleiten Pass and continue until we reach Grasleiten Hut (2,600 meters). The descent follows the route towards Molignon Pass and on to the beautifully positioned Tierser Alpl Hut, where we will stay for the night.

Day 3:
First, the path is slightly downhill below the Terrarossa Peak. After a while, the path turns into a serpentine trail with a few steeper ascents until reaching the highest point at about 2540 metres above sea level. The trail then leads over gentle meadows, down through a rocky landscape, and shortly before reaching Schlern House, there will be another short ascent. We cross Sesselschwaige (,1919 metres) and the renowned Prügelsteig trail, the Sciliar Gorge, and hike down to Peter Frag. From here, an easy panoramic trail leads to Tuff Hut and continues to the starting point at the valley station of the Alpe di Siusi cable car.
